Airdrie Horticultural society serves to inspire, create community, and promote the enjoyment of gardening through society membership and by providing community gardens for individuals and families to grow their own food.

Secretary (vacant position).
The secretary plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth governance and record-keeping.
Duties include:
Scheduling Board meetings
Taking attendance at board meetings
Taking accurate meeting minutes and getting them approved.
Maintaining board records.
Treasurer (vacant position)
The treasurer plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the organization's financial health and operations. They are responsible for ensuring financial transparency, compliance, and the responsible use of funds, all while working to achieve the organization's mission.
Duties include:
Managing the budget
Preparing the annual audit
Partner with executive to ensure the financial reports are continually updated
Individual responsibilities of Directors
Attend 85% of all meetings
Prepare for board meetings in advance by reviewing the pre distributed materials
Contribute to board discussions
Attend and support events (i.e. seed share, plant swap, garden tours etc.)
Respect the confidentiality of the organization’s information
Serve on committees of the board and/or assist in special projects as requested by the executive
Advocate for Airdrie horticultural society.
Average Time commitment
The board meets once a month for approximately 1 hour. Attendance is required at the annual AGM, at various events as needed, and to serve on board committees if needed.
